The Don Amott group was founded in 1963 by Don Amott senior and it is still a wholly owned family business offering its customers the reassurance that comes with dealing with a well established company. Don Amott junior came into the business on leaving school in 1965 and took over the reins when his father died in 1975.
The business quickly grew to become one of the UKs leading leisure enterprises which includes Leisure Kingdom, one of the country’s largest caravan retailers. Visit Leisure Kingdom Website
The Don Amott Parks division started life in the 60s with a residential site in Burton Upon Trent and a static holiday park within Alton’s Towers, both in Staffordshire. In 1975 the company acquired its first holiday park site in Tenby, South Wales.
The company’s meteoric rise to prominence started with the acquisition of Lakeside Lido in North Somercotes, Lincolnshire in 1985. Following major investment and extensive development the park was transformed into one of the finest parks on the East coast.
The team at Don Amott Parks is made up of long serving personnel, many with more than 20 years service.
Don Amott Parks pioneered a new breed of Caravan Park setting standards that many other operators aspire to. The company now has five premium holiday home parks in Lincolnshire along with residential park home locations in Lincolnshire and Staffordshire.

How We Support The Community
Don Amott and I have been RAMS fans and supporters since the 1960’s. In the summer of 2006, I had the pleasure to work closely with Don, as part of the “league of gentlemen” that rescued the club from financial collapse. During that period it was very apparent that we shared similar levels of passion and feelings for the club.
Don continues to support the club today as one of our premium sponsors having created the Don Amott Diamond Club which provides much sought after high-end hospitality including award standard cuisine, executive seating and pre-match presentations from both existing and former players and coaching staff. Don, is a true and committed RAMS fan and his continued support as one of our premium sponsors is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks to Don Amott Parks who have very kindly supported Mackworth St Francis Ladies this season by providing a new kit for the girls.
We have had a very successful season winning the Charity Cup, League Cup and Challenge Shield as well as finishing runners up in Derbyshire Ladies League Div 1.
Without the support of people like Don Amott, teams like ourselves would find it very difficult to operate due to the expense involved.
Derby Cathedral have been delighted by the continued support Don Amott has provided to the city and to our own establishment. His enthusiasm and determination has helped shape celebration services, increase the diversity and popularity of the Cathedral Choir, and through his work across the city enhanced lives. We are very pleased to have him as a supporter of Derby Cathedral”
Mickleover Sports are pleased to be associated with the Don Amott Group. Don has supported the club over numerous seasons in various ways. Starting with Ground Advertising Boards and First team Kit Sponsorship over recent seasons Sports and the Don Amott Group signed a four year agreement this summer to rename our ground, the Don Amott Arena. As a club we are extremely grateful for the help but just as important to the club is the association with a nationally well known, successful local company.
We are delighted that Don accepted our invitation to become President of the Derby Civic Society. Don is pro-active, supportive, and has a genuine vision of how Derby should develop. He is also very passionate about preserving the historical fabric of the City.

Don Amott’s Leisure Kingdom are proud sponsors of Derby-based Team Raleigh GAC professional cycling team – providing a luxurious motorhome to support the team’s endeavours in the British Cycling Elite Road, Circuit and Grand Prix Series events across the UK. These fantastic facilities ensure that the team are prepared both mentally and physically ahead of the gruelling races and much-needed respite post-events. Such support has certainly paid off during the 2015 season which saw Team Raleigh GAC riders Steve Lampier and Evan Oliphant clinch first places in the Elite Road and Grand Prix series respectively. Raleigh GAC also came a close and very respectable second in the Elite Series team rankings. It’s been a pleasure to work with Don Amott’s team, throughout the past 12 months, and we are looking forward to establishing a great partnership going forward.

Hilton Village Hall is a Registered Charity, charity number 1149075, Hilton Village Hall is a dual registered charity also registered with Companies House, Company Number 08097171.
For the last few years the Hilton Village Hall Management Committee have been working very hard to extend the Village Hall and refurbish the original part of the building to the same or similar standard as our new extension. The Management Committee have a vision and are striving to become the centre of the local community, by offering fantastic facilities for hire at a reasonable competitive price to its residents and the surrounding area. To be able to achieve this the Management Committee are required to obtain grant funding for any work required because as a Charity they do not have the money to complete such major work.
Early last year a member of the Management Committee Mrs Smith obtained quotes to have the large hall refurbished as it was very run down and in great need of updating as it had not been updated since 1989 when the original Village Hall was built. After this Mrs Smith a member of the Management Committee then started to look around for grant funding to fund the project with the help of Ian Hey from SDDC. At the same time the Hilton Parish Council Clerk was in discussions with Don Amott in relation to creating a lasting memorial for his dad Don Amott Senior for the 40th Anniversary of his passing. The Clerk to the Parish Council explained the vision of the Village Hall Management Committee at which point, after initial discussions with Don Amott, his Family, the Clerk to the Parish Council, Mrs Smith and Ian Hey from SDDC, Don Amott and his Family very kindly offered to become a benefactor to Hilton Village Hall and very kindly agreed to fund the project to refurbish the large hall for the benefit of the community.
To have such a high profiled benefactor as Don Amott and his family to fund such a large refurbishment project at Hilton Village Hall has been absolutely amazing. Both the Hilton Village Hall Management Committee and it’s hirers have been very exited and overwhelmed by Don Amott and his families generosity.
The refurbishment and transformation of the large hall is fantastic, it’s now very clean, fresh and modern, the Village Hall Management Committee, it’s staff and our current hirers love it. We also feel that it is now a very attractive space for local people to hire for parties, classes and meetings.
The Hilton Village Hall Management Committee, it’s staff and it’s hirers would like to thank Don Amott and his family for all their help, support and generosity in helping the Managements Committee’s vision become a reality and a lasting tribute to Don Amott Senior.
Mrs Clare Orme
Clerk to Hilton Parish Council
Over the last few years Don Amott has been involved in sponsoring Graham St Prims FC, which is a club at grass roots level. This includes the sponsoring of football kits and the stand. Don also helped when we recently had 50 stand seats vandalised by pointing us in the right direction to obtain replacements. Don’s sponsorship has been a tremendous help to our club enabling us to keep our heads above water.
Don’s generosity extends as far back as the 1970’s, when the Football Association made a decision to allow sponsorship. He sponsored Littleover FC, who were one of the first teams to take advantage of the decision and advertise “Don Amott” on the teams football shirts.
Don has been a benefactor of varied local sporting associations and on behalf of Prims, we would like to thank him for his support over the years.
We worked closely with Don Amott during Derby Hospitals Charity’s partnership with Derbyshire County Cricket Club during the 2010 season.
Mr Amott kindly paid for the charity name to be on the shirts and on branded ground boards which really helped to promotoe the charity to the wider communiuty of Derby and Derbyshire and nationwide. A charity ball was also organised, the proceeds of which were donated to the Breast Unit here at the hospital. It was a pleasure to work with this gentleman and i have no doubt that whoever is fortunate enough to work with Don will have a very rewarding and professional partnership.

For some time now Don Amott’s Leisure Kingdom, through Don and his team, have attended many Derbyshire Children’s Holiday Centre social functions giving their wholehearted support.
Of their own volition Don and his team have intensified that involvement to an unprecedented degree with regularly involved pursuit of the Charity’s requirements that have need of a resolution.
Typically; for a Grand Charity Ball Don’s team approached the Ball committee to sponsor the Ballroom’s flower arrangements prior to display arrangements being discussed. Result a superb display that significantly added to the ambience of the evening and which resulted in an unprecedented amount being raised for Children’s holidays.
On a further occasion Don had gained knowledge of the need for a generously proportioned and robust exhibition tent for the Fundraising team. The Fundraising Officer was asked to the Leisure Kingdom and overwhelmed to be presented with a tent that far exceeded his planned requirement. Always the abiding memory held by DCHC is the friendly rapport that emanates throughout all staff at the Leisure Kingdom and of the willing help that they give to ensure no problems arise

I am writing to thank you so much for your support in offering on loan, your caravan at the Whispering Waters site in Mablethorpe.
This precious place is called Dee’s Den, after my cousin with whom I started the charity but sadly died from cancer.
We are in our third season and thanks to your generosity and support, more than 100 families facing short futures together have made their precious memories at the Mablethorpe seaside. Due to its position, this caravan has been a haven to those who have had a short break for respite and bereavement purposes.
I simply cannot thank you enough for your support to my charity, from me and on behalf of our very vulnerable families.

I have had the privilege of working with Don as his Solicitor for over 40 years and I have always found him to be a very fair minded and reasonable man to act for.
Don is a man of his word and has always gone to great lengths to look after his family, employees and his customers.
He is rightly proud of what he has done for the community in Derby and Derbyshire and indeed elsewhere throughout the UK, whether it be his sponsorship of local footballs clubs such as Mickleover Sports Club or to a greater extent his involvement with Derby County & Burton Albion Football Clubs. He also offers generous support to a number of local charities and organisations.
Don is a modest man and does not seek the limelight for what he does and for that I and many other are fortunate to have him as a friend.

Don has always been a keen supporter of the local community and we are very pleased to have worked with him on events here at QUAD. Don is always looking at ways of promoting and celebrating Derby and also motivating others to do the same. Don sees QUAD as a key part of what makes the city centre a great place to visit and we hope to carry on working with him in the future.
Adam Buss, CEO, QUAD
Derby Trailblazers’ Basketball Club is fortunate and very grateful for the continued support of Don Amott. The club provides opportunities for people of all ages to get and be involved in this exciting sport. Like many other voluntary organisations, raising funds to keep subscriptions low enough to make the sport accessible to all, is a significant and constant challenge. The club, players and supporters are, therefore, very thankful to him.
It is not only the money that helps. Don has been a supporter of Derbyshire sport, large and small, for many years. His name is well known and his patronage to the club is advantageous when approaching other individuals and organisations; If Don’s involved they feel they should consider being so too.

When we approached Don to support Macmillan Cancer Support in Derbyshire he agreed without hesitation.
His hands on approach, generosity and philanthropy were evident from the start with his commitment to support Macmillan throughout 2015. The success of his support for charities such as Macmillan is testament to the respect he commands from the local community – when Don puts his name to something, everyone else gets on board!
Fundraising started in March this year when he organised a bespoke fundraising event where he welcomed friends, family, colleagues and clients to join him for a dining and auction experience at at Derby’s Anoki Restaurant and has continued to support us with other events throughout 2015.
Don is passionate about Derby and Derbyshire and his involvement with Macmillan means we can continue to provide support and services to local people, their friends and families, affected by cancer so no one has to face cancer alone.
Gini Smith – Fundraising Manager, Macmillan Cancer Support, Derbyshire
The Don Amott Leisure Group were major sponsors of Derbyshire County Cricket Club throughout my time at DCCC. In my role as CEO and Dons as Chairman we undertook the redevelopment of the County Ground in 2010. Don gave his time and experience for free and instigated many of the facilities that still there and being enjoyed to this day.
